Our Story

Streetlamp Creative’s story began in 2015 when Emma Weldon, working as a creative strategist, sought freelance writing help for a project and found Heather Karellas. From our first assignment, our work had a natural sense of partnership, collaboration, and flow. We enjoyed working together so much that we continued to partner for the next four years, tag-teaming more than 100 assignments for a wide variety of clients. In late 2018, we officially joined forces to form Streetlamp Creative. Years later, our team includes creative collaborators who help us serve our amazing clients on a variety of projects.

Our company name is a nod to our mission:
Streetlamp Creative shines a light on clients’ strengths and opportunities for growth while illuminating the best path forward.

Our clients’ industries range from banking to higher education, catering, social services, tourism & leisure, public health, psychology, and more. While our work takes many forms, our end goal is always the same: to help you grow your businesses and to work in partnership for mutual benefit. Our favorite clients are those who are communicative, open-minded, and values-driven. Streetlamp Creative is based in Atlanta, GA with team members across the Southeast.

Heather Karellas Streetlamp Creative
Heather Karellas

Co-Founder & Writer

With a background in nonprofit fundraising and communications, Heather is Streetlamp Creative’s in-house writer, wordsmith, grammar-checker, and pun enthusiast. She brings a decade of experience leading outreach for organizations like the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and Atlanta’s renowned Center for Puppetry Arts. An enthusiastic organizer, she thrives on creating color-coded spreadsheets and calendars.

Heather was in the inaugural class of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits “30 Under 30” award and is a past participant of Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta. She is a CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory’s Goizueta Business School, double major in History.

In her free time, you’ll find Heather hiking, thrift shopping, and relaxing with loved ones, including her husband and dog.

Emma Weldon

Co-Founder & Designer

With a diverse background in all things creative including photography, web design, typography, and project management, Emma shines in bringing it all together. She thrives on finding where clients’ goals intersect with customers’ needs and adding brilliant creativity to make it all work. Emma holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine/Studio Arts from Auburn University.

Emma grew up on photoshoots, critiquing logos, and getting instruction on proper letter spacing on elementary school projects. She still knows how to get to Minesweeper on a PC, and ⌘Q has solved most of her problems since she could walk. Emma is proudly a left- brainer, nerd, and “organized creative.” She’s fascinated by sociology and psychology – the “why” behind our choices.

On weekends, Emma is out in the country with her dog, traveling the world, in the garden, or preparing home-grown recipes.

Teri Mez

When she’s not designing, Teri prefers to be outdoors with her family, going on adventures, exploring nature or enjoying a sunny day with a good book.
