Streetlamp Creative’s story began in 2015 when Emma Weldon, working as a creative strategist, sought freelance writing help for a project and found Heather Karellas. From our first project, our work had a natural sense of partnership, collaboration, and flow. We enjoyed working together so much that we continued to partner for the next four years, tag-teaming more than 100 assignments for a wide variety of clients. In late 2018, we officially joined forces to form Streetlamp Creative.
Our work takes many forms (view all our services here), but our end goal is always the same: to help you grow your businesses and to work in partnership for mutual benefit. Our favorite clients are those who are communicative, open-minded, and values-driven. We are proudly based in Atlanta, GA where we are an active part of our local community.
Heather is an avid wordsmith, grammar-checker, and pun enthusiast. She has a decade of experience creating communication materials and leading outreach strategies for organizations including the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and the Center for Puppetry Arts. Heather was in the inaugural class of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits “30 Under 30” list in 2013 and participated in the Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta program through the Atlanta Regional Commission. She is a credentialed CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory’s Goizueta Business School (double major in History). Heather’s hobbies include running, hiking, baking, making color-coded spreadsheets (yes, for fun) and spending time with her rescued Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees-mix pup, Lily. She also volunteers with Lifeline Animal Project and probably knows more about The Muppets than you do.
Emma grew up on photoshoots, critiquing logos, and getting reprimanded for uneven letter spacing on elementary school projects. She still remembers how to get to Minesweeper on a PC, and ⌘Q has solved most of her life problems since she could walk. Emma is proudly a left-brainer, a nerd, and an “organized creative.” She is fascinated by sociology and psychology – the “why’s” behind our choices. With a diverse background in all things creative including photography, web design, typography, and project management, Emma shines in bringing it all together. She thrives on finding the intersection of clients’ goals and customers’ needs and adding brilliant creativity to make it all work. Emma holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine/Studio Arts from Auburn University. In her free time, you’ll find her out in the country with her puppy dog Jack, traveling the world, in the garden, or in the kitchen cooking.
Lily is a goofy girl who loves rolling in grass, chewing on sticks, and getting attention. She’ll almost definitely shake your hand for peanut butter.
Jack is a friendly pup who enjoys taking long naps, making new friends, and of course, chasing squirrels.
At Streetlamp Creative, we believe in actively giving back to our community.
